Taylor Streit
Taylor Streit started fishing as a kid in the Catskill Mountains of New York. After finding his way to Taos, New Mexico, he started a guiding career that has now lasted over a quarter of a century and landed him in the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as a legendary guide. In 1980 Taylor opened the first full fly shop in Taos, the Taos Fly Shop.
It took a hiatus in 1987 and Taylor moved on to new projects including a Bone fishing business in the Bahamas, commercial fly tying and hosting guide trips to Argentina. He is the author of two books, Fly Fishing New Mexico and Instinctive Fly Fishing as well as numerous articles and short stories. Taylor is currently working on his highly anticipated third book. Instinctive Fly fishing contains a wealth of good common-sense information that Taylor has gained through thousands of days on the water, both fishing and guiding. It's the kind of stuff that a lot of folks miss noticing or haven't taken the time to figure out. There's not a lot of high-tech double talk to impress the reader, but rather reflections and hints from a nature-loving outdoorsman who's been ther eand done nearly all of it.
